JEN PSAKI JUST NOW: "The President has been crystal clear that he opposes defunding the police. He has said that throughout his campaign for office."

In an interview with CBS on Thursday, she said this (bolding is mine) when asked about her use of private security:

"I'm going to make sure I have security because I know. I have had attempts on my life and I have too much work to do there, too many people that need help right now for me to allow that. So, if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend 10 more dollars on it -- you know what? I get to be here to do the work. So suck it up and defunding the police has to happen, we need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets."
Today Peter Doocy asked Jen Psaki about statements from Cori Bush this morning where she said police must be defunded. Here’s how that went:

Psaki tried to make it sounds as though Cori Bush is among a very small minority of Democrats who want to defund the police and went as far to claim that Biden has been consistently against defunding the police, from his campaign to his presidency.

But as Benny suggests in the video, we all know that’s just not true.

In Doocy’s second question, he asked if the White House was worried that ‘defunding police’ might become a bigger thing among Democrats as they approach the midterms. Psaki suggested it doesn’t appear to be happening “even though there might be a desire for that on the other side of the aisle.”

Well yes we do want that, but only because it’s TRUE. We want the American people to see Democrats for WHO THEY REALLY ARE and not this phony facade they show to voters while campaigning.
