| 2025 is off to an exciting start for CNN Original Series and Films! The year kicked off with a lineup of notable documentaries exploring music legends like Luther Vandross in Luther: Never Too Much and cultural heroes like Kobe: The Making of a Legend and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. The CNN library continues to expand with compelling stories from around the globe, including Lockerbie: The Bombing of Pan Am 103, which explores the devastating terror attack that killed 270 people, including 190 Americans, in 1988. Viewers can also travel to Spain with award-winning actress Eva Longoria in Searching for Spain, discovering the country's rich culture and hidden gems. And in Twitter: Breaking the Bird, we take it back to the early days of social media, when the world communicated in 140 characters or less. To provide a deeper look into what viewers can expect from CNN Originals this year, we sat down with Amy Entelis, Executive Vice President of Talent, CNN Originals and Creative Development, CNN Worldwide. | What can CNN viewers expect to see from this Spring's lineup? Our upcoming lineup is a return to what CNN Originals does best. What has defined our success over the past decade is our work in the food and travel space, starting with Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. These talent-led shows that are a combination of food, travel and history are a magic formula for us. We know our viewers are always eager for a journey, especially when it involves food and travel, so we are excited to bring back the Searching For franchise with Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain. This season, we follow Eva on an immersive, gastronomic pilgrimage across the rich tapestry of Spain, an international culinary mecca. From homemade tapas, fresh regional seafood delicacies, rustic paellas and beyond, we invite viewers to join Eva as she tastes Spain's most iconic traditional dishes and explores how innovative Spanish cuisine is propelling the future of fine dining. | With Lockerbie, which premieres tonight, CNN is telling a story that's been untouched for almost 40 years. What drew you to the project? I remember exactly where I was when I learned that Pan Am Flight 103 went down over Lockerbie, Scotland. And I suspect many of our viewers will have a similar memory of that day. The Lockerbie bombing commanded the world's attention at the time, and questions continue to haunt the family members of the victims. We were drawn to the opportunity to capture testimony from family members of the Pan Am 103 passengers and exclusive first-hand analysis from investigators, intelligence officers and other key witnesses who have not spoken until now. Lockerbie is a stirring combination of investigative and highly emotional storytelling that CNN Originals has come to be known for, and we hope that this series is the definitive telling of the 1988 tragedy and the ongoing search for conclusive answers about who is responsible. | What excites you about CNN's upcoming premieres? Our second season of United States of Scandal with Jake Tapper is not to be missed. CNN audiences relished our first season for its beyond-the-headlines approach to stories that once made headlines. It is also fun for our viewers to see a different side of Jake. This season, he widens his scope from politics to include some of the most infamous scandals from the worlds of corporate America, sports and pop culture. I'm also looking forward to sharing with the CNN audience our new four-part series, Twitter: Breaking the Bird. From the company's auspicious beginnings to its infamous $44 billion sale, this series features exclusive access to key players, including the founders and former staffers who played central roles in the platform's creation. Our viewers look to CNN Originals to go behind the headlines of complex, topical stories and this deeply sourced, meticulously researched series does just that. | |
